Statement blankets {Black and White}

I have been in the process of redoing my kids shared room.  It used to be grey, aqua, white with little bits of pink for my daughter.  In our new home, as I have mentioned, I'm cleaning things up.  I'm going for clean lines, less clutter and an overall more modern feel.  So, as I've continued to focus on my kids room I was shopping for new bedding for them.  What do I want to do?  I don't want a lot of bedding because they are in bunk beds and lets be honest, bunk beds are the worst creation in the world to make.  If you need your workout for the day, just come to my house and change the sheets on this bunk bed and you'll have worked up a sweat!  With that being said...I don't want a whole bunch of bedding to deal with.  Just today I stored away the three quilts, yes three that were in my kids room.  And I've also piled up three extra pillows that I won't allow myself to bring back in.  (I have a slight pillow addiction)

So in my search I found an assortment of really cute statement blankets, some for beds, some for babies.  I just think they are all so cute so I had to share.

This adorable baby blanket is by Yarning Made and can be found on Etsy.  I love that it replicates my all time favorite statement blanket...

The Crux blanket by Pia Wallen.  This blanket is the epitome of simplicity, statement and bold.
The Remodelista touches on the different two different blends that this blanket is available in.  Wool or a cotton blend.  Each hitting a completely different price point, but both equally as fun.

When I came to terms with the fact that I can't afford two of the Crux blankets by Pia, I had to find some other options.

West Elm has a really fun geometric square blanket that could be an option.  It is currently out of stock, possibly that is my sign that again, I can't come up with the money for two.  It is super fun to look at though.

And then in my search I ventured to my trusty IKEA and found their Henny blanket.  It is made out of wool and has a very similar appeal to me as the others do.  It is a strong graphic blanket staying with the black, white and grey scheme.

This, my friends, is what I decided on.  The best thing about it, it is only $40, but to my surprise and pleasure when I visited IKEA today they were on sale for $20!!!!  So excited!  So, there is another addition to my kids room.  It is coming together.  I have two pillow covers on order to recover two existing ones.  Can't wait to share those with you all.  If you want to follow along with my ideas for their space, follow my {a room for two} board on Pinterest.
