Lego art {DIY}

I am in the process of finishing up my kids room.  I am just itching to share it.  I really love the simplicity of it and the little bits that are personal to them.  One of the pieces I wanted to add to the space was a piece of art to go near my son's top bunk.  He has a book ledge up there so that he can access books at night without disturbing his sister.  On that ledge is a few other items including a picture frame.  The piece of art in it was just a bit too sophisticated for my 5 1/2 year old son so I started looking for other options.  After finding a few pieces of inspiration we decided to get a bit artsy fartsy over here.  It was a team effort, even daddy got involved.

My son is a typically almost 6 year old boy, he LOVES Legos.  I won't even go into detail on how many Legos he has.  I got to thinking that the whole thing about Legos is they build something and then to clean it up you have to take it apart...I'm not about featuring huge Lego creations in my house, ha sorry little buddy.  So...why not have him create a few fun characters and capture them?  So that is what we did.

My son got to building and then my husband and I got to capturing his creations.  I'm all about creations over here.  One of my Instagram photos mentioned just that...

Let them be little!
(so glad I purchased this piece from Brickyard Buffaloo when they were selling them)
I love featuring fun things made by my son like a huge painted leaf with glitter!

And here is our newest creation.  My son is so excited for me to print it and get it framed.

It was so simple and really means a lot to him which is the most important part of art.

Find me on Instagram, just send me a request:  brimoysa
I'm not ready to go officially public, but I don't mind accepting you if you request it.  =)
Be sure to leave me a comment here that you are doing so...that way I can make the connection!
