Cool kid {big boy room design}

This little client of mine is the epitome of the cool kid.  His name is rad, his parents are even cooler and he's about to be a big brother!  So it was time to turn his room into a space fitting for all this awesome. I'm not one to design a themed space, I like to mix all sorts of pieces into one room and in this room I did just that.

There will be the most perfect little reading corner with a book wall and kilim floor pillow amongst all this.  Bright, bold baskets are just perfect for all his toys.  And we had to throw in some major little man love for trucks and cars by including some fun bedding.  Now to start working on his little brother's nursery.

Cali Cool { living room design}

I've always wondered how clients find me.  I usually assume that they come to my site via Pinterest and then we start chatting from there.  In this case I know Instagram led this client to me.  It truly shows the power of social media and the use of hash tags.  I am always so intrigued by this new way of marketing, I am finding it to be so beneficial to my little business.  Not to mention, it has truly led me to some pretty rad people.  In this case, this client is from the East Coast, but really wanted to have a "Cali cool" vibe for her entry/living room.  I guess I fit perfectly into the designer role being from Cali and all (wink wink).  Her home is already gorgeous, so I just couldn't wait to design this space for her.  Working with a few existing pieces of furniture I then ran with the boho, beachy feel using Hmong and Batik pillows, the palm art prints, the bold rug and lots of texture in the new chairs and table.  The wishbone chairs are an A+ in my book and will be just the right scale for this room.  I'll be sure to share pictures when the room is complete.
