With the backyard complete, my kids had somewhere to run around and scream while my husband and I continued working away. Again, the painters had finished the cabinets and the popcorn from the ceiling was gone. My husband and I painted the walls before he tackled the floors. They were originally a baby blue...the entire house was baby blue! You can see in
Part 1 the color the walls were...we decided to paint them in Benjamin Moore's light pewter.
Along with changing the wall color we hung up all new window fixings. The vertical blinds were GONE! All the windows got custom cut Levolor blinds found at Lowe's. These blinds are amazing! For any of you that need new window coverings, but have odd shaped windows and are on a budget, this company is your saving grace. My windows were all at least two inches too big or too small for any of the pre-made blinds out there. So when I saw this company I was intrigued. They offer a large selection of materials and colors and then Lowe's custom cuts them while you wait. In about 15 minutes I had 5 perfectly sized new blinds. I picked out the
Natural Woven blinds in cinnamon bamboo. I couldn't be happier and I just adore the warmth they add to my concrete floors and pewter walls.
Here is the before of this same space. Old carpet, vertical blinds, blue walls and cream door jambs and doors.
We are moving forward!
