Completed bathroom {from awful to awesome!}

I have shared our bathroom with you all a few times, but for those of you who haven't seen where it started to what it is now, I thought I'd gather it all in this one post for you. You're welcome =)

When we bought our condo in December 2012 it was straight out of the 80's.  A sweet older couple who were the original owners still lived here and I don't think they had ever re-decorated.  So, we had a new home with baby blue walls, baby blue vertical blinds and baby blue Berber carpet. It was awesome. (insert sarcasm) I 100% could see the potential with the open concept this home had and just knew we could make it our own.

Now the bathroom was pretty horrible with its old vanity, fluorescent lighting and weird door situation.  It also had a baby blue toilet seat....do you see a theme here?  Take a look.

And could there have been anymore towel racks?

Our first order of duty was to remove one of the three doors in this little space, remove the towel racks, get a new toilet and then out with the horrible floor tiles.  We had already changed the rest of the house to cement floors so it was our plan in here too.  

We made major progress over the course of the first year and ended up replacing the existing vanity as well.  Here is what our bathroom looked like at the beginning of December 2016.

You can see once we removed the tile floors how rough the cement slab looked.  If you can believe it from this photo, the floors were actually smooth as could be, but the mortar left horrible ridging marks, boo.  We lived with this for awhile while I was brainstorming our next move. 

And then I found the most amazing, cost effective company called Quadrostyle.  They make peel 'n stick tiles and floor panels that look exactly like real tiles for way less.  Sign me up!  We are on a very strict budget over here and as much as I've dreamed about laying down cement tiles, we just can't afford it.  So Quadrostyle gave me the look I dreamed of, minus the cost.  

For our situation and space, a major plus about Quadrostyle is the fact that the panels are so thin making the line where our cement floors hit the panels created such a super smooth transition.  Where if I did lay actual tile I would have had an up-step.  Even though these panels are thin, you are going to be shocked how durable they are.  They are made of strong, adhesive-backed vinyl that is created to withstand some serious abuse, perfect for our family of four.  

What's even better about Quadrostyle is how easy the installation was!  I did it all myself and even created a quick tutorial video for you if you want to purchase them for your home.  Now let's get to the after photos, shall we? 

I am obsessed with how this space was quickly transformed with the Quadrostyle panels and the pattern I chose.  I could not be happier.  I truly love our bathroom now.

Our master bedroom {black and white room}

I've been wanting to take pictures of our master bedroom for awhile, but I haven't felt like it was done.  Who am I kidding though...will I ever feel like my home is done?  Probably not.  That to me, though, is what makes designing fun.  It is ever changing with trends and your own personal style.  So, after realizing this, I felt it was time just to capture what our room looks like now.  So I did.  I'm still on the search for a rad rug and possibly a vintage chair for the corner, but for now, it's still one of my favorite spaces in the house.  You can find me resting in this bed often as I'm 36 weeks along as a gestational carrier and days are getting to be longer and longer days.  My bed is my special spot.  I love lounging in it.  There is just something about all white bedding.  I hope you enjoy this mini tour of our black and white bedroom.

Here's a little peak at what our room looked like when we first moved in... 

We had a very grand, dark espresso bed and a chevron rug.  It just was no longer the style we were going for in our new home.  Love seeing spaces go through transitions...mine included.  

Love is spoken {a completed nursery for my niece}

Excited doesn't even explain how I am feeling about sharing this nursery!  Ecstatic, nervous, giddy...those may be better words to use.  This nursery is near and dear to my heart because it is for my niece.  I think because this nursery is so very personal to me it makes it a bit more nerve wracking to share it.  I absolutely adore the way this nursery came together and even more importantly, my sister loves it, so the "client" is happy.

Here is the design board I had created for the space.

My sister wanted soft colors for this space with touches of gold.  We went with shades of coral and peach, white, ivory, pops of teal and golds.  A few items that I think really stand out in this space...if I have to pin point a few...are the framed ombre wrapping paper sheet from Paper Source, the subtle floral rug and the transformed Craigslist dresser.  I just love how these items make such an impact.

I knew we needed a large pop of color in a few places in this room because the walls were such a neutral that we weren't allowed to change.  When I saw this wrapping paper from Paper-Source I knew it would be just perfect framed.

The rug was a great find since we knew we wanted to keep it a neutral color, but I also wanted the rug to be gorgeous.  When I found this Martha Stewart Rose Print rug I knew it was perfect.

Lastly, the biggest transformation in this room was the Craigslist dresser I found.  Here it is before:

I loved the lines of the dresser and its size, we knew it just needed a new color.

Grateful Heart {completed coral nursery}

Happy Friday all!!!  I'm excited to send you off into the weekend with a completed nursery.  So fun right?!
I shared with you the design board of this space about 4 months ago:

The coral and gold color scheme of this nursery came from the amazing focal wall of wallpaper.  We then added touches of gold through out the space and brought in strong pop of coral with pillows, ottoman and other textiles.  A traditional Jenny Lind crib always works well in a nursery and then we added a touch of  today with the stunning Empire Rocker from Nurseryworks.
