Blossom {a completed girl nursery}

It's a great Monday when I have a completed nursery to share with you all.  I shared a few photos on Instagram already, but here is the room in its entirety.  This room was very special for me to be a part of because I got to design it for a mommy who is like a third sister to me.  It is my youngest sisters best friend since elementary school.  Not only did I get to come up with the design, but I also got to see the room in person, which I never get to do.  Since I do E-design I only ever get to see photos of the spaces I work so hard in creating.  This was such fun for me.  Now enough talking...enjoy the photos.  

Let Her Sparkle {coral and purple girls room}

I promised I was going to share a recently completed little girls room.  This was a mini E-design because my client came to me already having painted the walls, purchased the comforter and sheets and had a few art prints.  She was just having a hard time pulling it all together.  She happened upon this design board I did awhile ago for another client and asked me for some help.

I, of course, was excited to get started and address the challenge that is coral and purple.  It isn't that it is hard to design using these colors, it is more that it is difficult to find products that have these two colors incorporated together.  I think it came out just perfect though.  Here is the design for her daughter. 

I can't wait to share this room once it is completed because it has the cutest little vanity corner, it will have a perfect storage bench at the foot of the bed and so many fun girlie touches.

Love is spoken {a completed nursery for my niece}

Excited doesn't even explain how I am feeling about sharing this nursery!  Ecstatic, nervous, giddy...those may be better words to use.  This nursery is near and dear to my heart because it is for my niece.  I think because this nursery is so very personal to me it makes it a bit more nerve wracking to share it.  I absolutely adore the way this nursery came together and even more importantly, my sister loves it, so the "client" is happy.

Here is the design board I had created for the space.

My sister wanted soft colors for this space with touches of gold.  We went with shades of coral and peach, white, ivory, pops of teal and golds.  A few items that I think really stand out in this space...if I have to pin point a few...are the framed ombre wrapping paper sheet from Paper Source, the subtle floral rug and the transformed Craigslist dresser.  I just love how these items make such an impact.

I knew we needed a large pop of color in a few places in this room because the walls were such a neutral that we weren't allowed to change.  When I saw this wrapping paper from Paper-Source I knew it would be just perfect framed.

The rug was a great find since we knew we wanted to keep it a neutral color, but I also wanted the rug to be gorgeous.  When I found this Martha Stewart Rose Print rug I knew it was perfect.

Lastly, the biggest transformation in this room was the Craigslist dresser I found.  Here it is before:

I loved the lines of the dresser and its size, we knew it just needed a new color.

Showering my sister {coral baby shower}

As I had mentioned in an earlier post my youngest sister is expecting a baby girl in March and our entire family is so excited.  This has been such a fun pregnancy to witness because my little sister had been away since college.  She went to school North of all of us and then moved right out of college to San Francisco.  This is the first time her and her husband have finally moved home in years.  So, when we all found out she was pregnant we were thrilled that we'd all be able to watch her belly grow and you know I was excited that I'd get to have a hands on approach to her nursery.  Yippee!  So it was only natural that my older sister and I would throw her a baby shower.  We had so much fun this last weekend showering our sister with attention and gifts.  I thought I'd share a few of the images from the shower with you.

We went with a color scheme of shades of coral and gold that were inspired by the invitation we used from Tiny Prints.

 We used satin coral fabric for tablecloths along with burlap runners.  Roses in shades of coral and white were just beautiful. (Trader Joe's always to the flower rescue)  We aren't one for games so we created a head band station where guests could each create a headband for my soon to be niece.  It turned out so cute, I highly suggest it.  We purchased our kit through the Shabby Flower Bowtique on Etsy.

Tutorial for the ribbon swag garland to follow in the next few days.  It was such a fun, easy project that will now be used in the nursery.
